In this Professional Series course, we will explore some the techniques and concepts used during the compositing of our transforming robot project. We will learn how to deal with issues importing our passes and how to create a missing pass. From there we will learn the basic shuffle and compositing techniques, along with some novel uses of various passes to enhance our composite. We will color correct the foreground and background to match. To ground the vehicle we will create particle effects in NUKEX. Finally we will finish the shot with post effects like flares, lens reflections, lens distortion, blooms, grain, etc. In the end we will have our completed shot in NUKE.
Fxphd Introduction to Flame Issue 10 CD-ViH | ISO | 510 MB
Many people have wanted a simple introduction to the flame. Starting at the basics Mark Vandenbergen covers how to use flame and all the main modules. Mark started with one of the first flame's ever, and worked around the world on Flame, including a stint at the then Discreet Logic designing UI. Mark takes a straight forward approach allowing someone who perhaps is an assistant to move up to doing jobs of their own. This is a unique course as most Flame material is aimed at more senior users, and skips the fundamentals of starting out with this powerhouse visual effects product.
We wanted to lay out the game ahead in more detail than we ever have before - since people have asked for a tad more of an idea of the direction and focus of the future Background Fundaments. classes. Based upon feedback from students, this new term and the following term's Background Fundamentals will concentrate on the visual effects knowledge and tasks that artists run into on a daily basis - focused on method and theory not individual applications. Over the next two terms we will be covering all the cool and no so cool but important things that come up. From label replacement, matching 3D and live action, keying and lighting, and even some 3D stereoscopic effects. In each case we will try and make the class self contained to that week, while addressing real world shots, with an eye to both budget and timescale. Yes we will even try and budget and cost shots as we go. Plus we get to fly in helicopters and stick needles our (digital eyes). - We hope this will be the most hands on and fun BKD yet.
FAULT collaborates with the world's leading artists in film, fashion, art and music. FAULT never underestimates the effects fashion and artists have to provoke social change and the ability to shape our future.
