Ngorongoro Crater is lush, beautiful and rich with residents that graze its volcanic floor. Two thousand foot high cliffs surround the Crater, which is home to over 13,000 herd animals. To reach them though, the usurping males need to get through. The pride's lead male has guarded them for five years but, at the age of eight, he's almost past his prime. Against their combined strength and determination, will he be able to protect the pride? If he doesn't repel the challengers, it could spell bloodshed for the young cubs who are often the first victims once a victorious male moves in to father his own litters. With the battle lines drawn, the Lakette pride will have one chance to defend itself - and to survive.

Famed paleontologist Jack Horner and his colleagues are challenging the long held belief that young dinosaurs looked like miniature versions of their parents. Instead they may have looked so different that scientists assumed juveniles and adults were separate species. Even a young T. rex it would be hard to recognize. The transformations from childhood to adulthood were so dramatic that Horner suspects that up to a third of all dinosaur species may vanish in cases of mistaken identity. In their place were developing a new understanding of the complexity of dinosaur lives and learning new reasons for some of the dinosaurs' strangest features like horns lumps, bumps, and dome-heads.
