Personal Notes (*Please Read Carefully):
iChords has been the unparalleled best software for amateur Guitarists like me. That's because:
* it graphically displays the chords played in any track with great accuracy.
* it can visualize the finger positions for every chord (most useful).
* has three distinct difficulty levels.
* has keyboard and notation mode too
* and most importantly, its NOT a standalone app. Its basically a WMP plugin which modifies your OS-default Windows Media Player into a Note Transcriber and Chord Visualizer.
Its something you can't but fall in love with. But, the biggest shock came to me when I upgraded my OS to Win Seven. The app rendered useless, as it was not compatible with the WMP 12, that came with Win Seven. The Developers did not upgrade the app to fix the issue. But, it couldn't deter me from keeping it.
I had to think about alternative solutions, without downgrading my OS.
And, like it is said that: "There's a melody for every malady". I finally managed to do up the miracle, I couldn't but share with you. I have leeched from you a lot.Its time for me to pay something back to you. I knew from the beginning that Portability could be solution, but then the old issue would haunt you: its not standalone, just a WMP plugin! So, I had to manage it to port along with WMP 11 (From my Old XP on a Virtual Machine). It was a great challenge to port an OS-component (WMP 11), but I finally Made it with amagic! And my joy knew no bounds when I successfully and seamlessly played it on my Win Seven. My dream came true at last.
Now, its your time to have that charm.
* Extract the exe on Desktop (or anywhere else).
* Run it.
* Choose "Now Playing" tab (*MOST IMPORTANT)
* Drag any MP3 (or other WMP-supported audio format)
* Enjoy Playing the tabs with 99% accuracy
* Have your own Rock-Band (*IMPORTANT)!!! * Windows Seven users Must Remember:
You need to use this patch with Administrator Rights, before you can use the Portable iChords.
The Patch would basically "Downgrade" certain libraries of WMP12 to WMP11 Standards. There may be some problems while using WMP12 thereafter. Do it if you strictly need it.
And, If you wan to restore WMP12, use this:
OR
If you want to keep WMP 12 intact, another version has been posted . But, its a bit fuzzy too. I've written to D'accord, they might fix it soon.

Evaluation of iChords by Dr. File Finder on Tucows.com:
"D'Accord iChords makes it really easy to transcribe chords. What's really cool is that it can tell you what chords are being played in the music you're listening to. It eliminates the guess work if you want to learn a song quickly. In testing it out here I found D'Accord iChords to be very easy-to-use and intuitive. It's an excellent tool for beginners and novice players as well. I took MP3 files of several songs I didn't know how to play and let the software show me the chords. Geez, where was this software when I was playing in bands? ... So, if you play guitar or know someone who does, this should be a gift you give them. Really nicely done. I recommend it."
