The book is based on MS patterns etc and is very much based on Microsoft/.NET technologies and could have been more general purpose. To some extent this means it will also date, as new threats arise and products change. There's also a related risk that developers might use this as an exclusive list and not draw the wider principles of building secure apps. Worth it as a concise aide-memoire if you're working with .NET a lot, otherwise maybe not.
