Director Isao Takahata is well known as Hayao Miyazaki's once mentor, and present Ghibli partner. Like Miyazaki, he's highly acclaimed for his distinguishing filmmaking style. Omohide Poro Poro is the story of a Tokyo office worker named Taeko. At age 27, she feels dissatisfied, unhappy with her life.
